Long drive home

I won’t bother regaling you with details of my drive from Green Street(we started when the first flakes came down) up to the Washington Heights development on Mill Street and back to Greendale…but the Mill/Greendale leg was over 60 minutes alone, mostly due to people deciding the intersections were good places declare their right of way.  Imagine a time-frozen Kelley Square, citywide…

Anyway, it’s sucked for everyone today, and hopefully everyone is home safe.  The best blogging of today’s action has been Jeff at Wormtown Taxi, who has timestamped different legs of a fare around the city today.  Good reading with your glug.

Locked in

A dispatch from Mr. Brendan Melican:

A line of cars is stuck getting out from the City Hall garage, as a plow just came by and formed a snowbank at the exit, blocking them in.

Seriously kids, it’s a mess out there.  If you’re not reading this with a bottle of wine or beer…get home and start.

Ain’t our news

Worried about the estimated 8 feet of snow coming our way in a couple hours?  Tired of clicking refresh on weather.com every 30 seconds to see if the storm has diverted?

  • You know it’s a good news day when you wake up, and a Worcester story has made Drudge Report.  (As an aside, anyone else notice that Drudge has already started using “2008” in his header?)  Sure enough, Drudge jumped all over the account of the Worcester woman who was misdiagnosed with HIV by her doctor at UMass Medical Center.
  • Two Green Line trains collided in Boston.  Somehow, this will be spun as a reason for the Worcester commuter rail running late.
  • Roger Clemens will probably be named in today’s MLB steroid report.  Surprised?
  • Oh, it’s gonna snow.
