“It’s a good day when nobody’s dead,” says a Deputy Chief.

He estimates about 40 people per floor, all single room occupancy.

Not letting go

The flames aren’t letting go, but some firefighters are starting to clear out.

Firefighter Frank Raffa says it seems everyone on the dept. is safe.

Ladder back up

Almost immediately, this ladder is going back up with orange flames very visible.

Worcester fighter slightly hurt

One Worcester firefighter was just led away, limping, but did not need a stretcher…

It looks like this is getting under control, with one ladder truck down.

Still, we see flames inside on floors four and five.

Four Trucks

We missed (at least) one on the back end…so four trucks on one building…

This smoke is visible almost to Sterling A&E Editor Doreen Manning tells us.

Raging

This is still raging on the top floors and back half of the building…a column of black smoke is shooting out the center….three ladder trucks are working on the fire from all angles
