Will tonight’s frost kill Worcester’s beetles?

The National Weather Service has issued a frost advisory for Northern Worcester County for tonight…it looks like Worcester will miss the coldest of the weather, and bottom out somewhere in the mid-high 30’s. But if it dips down to frost levels, could that mean an earlier start to the infected tree chopping? Officials have long said that they needed to wait to the first frost, but I don’t think anyone expected that to be in mid-September.

UPDATE: City officials say tonight’s frost will not be heavy enough to destroy the beetles.

Direct Air to where?

Dear Direct Air,

We’re really thinking of booking a trip to Fort Myers sometime this winter. Really. You have convinced us it’s a good deal, we need to go somewhere warm for a bit, and we like the idea of not having to drive.

But, we’re also a bit confused.

You see, we see on your website heading that you serve Ft. Myers, and we see in your “from” menu that flights start there. But in your “destination” menu we only see Fort Meyer, and we don’t know where the heck that is.

AND, when we try to schedule a flight from Orlando/Sanford to this fair town, you list us as Worchester.  Not something we take kindly too.

We know it was pointed out two weeks ago elsewhere, but we’re really hoping you can correct this ASAP, because we want to think of you like a real big kid airline(really) and this just doesn’t help the cause.

Thanks,

The Daily Worcesteria

The list goes on–we’re running about 18 bands and musicians deep tonight, at over a dozen spots.  It goes all night, so ignore the cold, and get on out.
