Hollis Street murder leads WPD to Puerto Rico

Three have been three arrests made in the span of a week in connection to the April 6 murder of 22 year old Jose Luis Rivera on Hollis Street, in an investigation that has involved US Marshalls and sent WPD detectives all the way to San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Yesterday, police arrested 27 year-old Bruce Brown in Worcester and charged him with being an accessory after the fact of murder. In information released by the WPD today, on May 5 in Ponce, Puerto Rico, US Marshalls, the Puerto Rico Fugitive Task Force and the Puerto Rico Police Department arrested 19 year-old Kimberly Grandmaison on a warrant for accessory after the fact of murder and 23 year-old Waldermar Quinones on a warrant for murder . All three suspects have Worcester addresses.

Three WPD detectives interrogated them at the San Juan US Marshall’s office. Currently, officials are organizing paper work to transfer the suspects to Worcester. The WPD says it’s unknown at this time if the two will fight or waive extradition, and the paper work to bring them back here could take several weeks to process.

A call to the police department for more information has not been returned.
