The Casello situation

Posted by Jeremy Shulkin

Joff Smith had his press conference this morning to announce his bid for the 13 Worcester district state rep. seat, which naturally led to a lot of questions about who would replace him (fueled by a Worcesteria item this week) now that second-place finisher Joe Casello has moved to Florida.

That “moved” should read “may move.” I was able to speak with Casello today, and while he says that he has not moved, he did say he was “not in a position to comment” about what’s going on, and that he’ll update us later on it. He says that his house has not been sold.

Yeah, best of luck Joff… you’ll need it.
You’ve essentially been irrelevant at the local level.

  2. Can’t for the life of me recall anything he’s done that qualifies him for a higher office.

Well, he did have a bit part in a movie right? And he had a bit part on the city council too.

Does he really think he has the stuff to be anything but a local insurance

Agreed, that’s my point exactly. He’s issued a few non-newsworthy snippets to the press about trees and Asian beetles, but nothing more.

I guess he’s following in the footsteps of Tim Murray.
The problem is (1) he’s no Tim Murray, and (2) Tim Murray has become just as irrelevant at the State level.
