The number of candidates thinking about running for city office this November continues to grow. In addition to Kate Toomey, John Monfredo, Tracy Novick and Gary Rosen pulling papers the first day they were available, Kevin Reando has pulled papers to run for District 1 City Councilor, and Philip Palmieri has pulled papers to run for reelection for District 2. Robert Dial and Kate Toomey’s daughter Ruth Toomey have pulled papers for school committee. The younger Toomey is reportedly still considering whether or not to run.
Then there’s ever present gadfly Stephen Quist, who pulled papers to run for district 2 city councilor as well as district 3 city councilor and three at-large city councilor positions. The papers are clearly not all for Quist; presumably they’re for some members of his newly formed political action committee, Vote for Worcester. But on Tuesday, Quist wouldn’t reveal his candidates as he had promised Jordan Levy an exclusive interview on the subject Thursday. Right.
