A two-alarm fire brought six fire trucks, an ambulance and scores of emergency personnel to 19 Wilson St. The top floor of a three-decker caught fire at about 4 p.m. and was extinguished at 4:20, although firemen were still in the apartment working through the damage while smoke continued to stream from the roof.
The apartment’s tenants didn’t want to give their names to media, but one of them did say that it started while he was asleep and he woke up to his friend yelling at him to get out.
First-floor tenants weren’t home at the time of the fire, but spotted it as they were walking toward the house. They hadn’t yet heard if their apartment sustained smoke or water damage.
