Deval at Moore fundraiser

It’s a first for us: A photographer being told he can’t go outside.

Deval Patrick was the featured guest at a Michael Moore fundraiser at Roma’s on Harding Street this afternoon (He was in town after attending the grand opening of a new Worcester baseball glove manufacturer). A photographer who showed up to the event (having been told on the newspaper rumor mill it was a public event) was initially refused entry to what had been scheduled as a private, closed-to-press shindig, although he was quickly allowed in to take some shots.

But when Patrick actually showed up in his car, our photographer – now inside with the guests – was told he wasn’t allowed to go outside to take arrival shots.

He eventually got out.

As for Moore, Patrick is just the latest in a line of high-profile supporters: Moore now counts Congressman Jim McGovern, Lt. Gov Tim Murray, State Sen. Ed Augustus, and DA Joe Early as just a few of the big names who have backed him or are showing up at events for him. McGovern in particular has been an ardent supporter, announcing last week he would be focusing energy on ensuring Moore’s victory over Republican John LeBeaux.
