FOX’s Fringe in Worcester

Anyone watching FOX instead of the Sox game tonight?

The latest episode of Fringe takes place entirely in Worcester…shot on our streets, using our names on the in car GPS…Very bizarre. Especially that “26 story” building in the beginning. And that canal with bridges over it in the chase scene.

Still, cool.

Anyone else see this tonight?

  • I’d like to know what city was actually used…

  • As I said in the threat on Worcesterite, Fringe has been my favorite new show of the fall season, but I have stuck with this hideous Sox game just because.

From what I can see the shows become available to watch on the Fox website in full within a few days. I’ll catch it there!

It looks like Worcester was used for some of the scenes, interspersed with somewhere else.

  • Have they confused Worcester with Lowell?

  • If you look close at the fly by early in the show the city is probably Hartford. (the signs read rt91 and I recognize some of the buildings.) The maps show Main St. called Mill St. and a park where the only skyscraper downtown is located. They didn’t use any actual Worcester locations.

  • I’ve heard that they film exclusively in Vancouver. Other cities have complained about it (Cambridge- where most of the show takes place, and Boston- where they almost always use the same harbor sky shot)… But I still think it was neat that “Worcester” was in an episode, fake skyscrapers or not.

    Guys, seriously.

If you can honestly say that you recognized any of the scenes as actual places in Worcester, you were either 1) asleep, 2) blind, or 3) completely delusional. Every single one of those scenes was taken from Hartford CT.

The show’s producers were dead on if they gave the order “Go film a run down, semi-city that people generalize as being outside of ‘Boston.’” Unfortunately, from the 3 cities to chose from (Providence = the third), they missed the “actual” Worcester.

    Check it out. Seriously.

  • It was Hartford for sure. I had to pause to catch it but the Travelers building is a dead giveaway.

Just watched again, and you’re all right. It’s absolutely Hartford. I was finding Worcester where it wasn’t.
