A Massad implicated?
The defense in the Amit Mathur failed in their efforts to have the trial dismissed today, after alleging that the government withheld damaging information about prosecution witnesses.
At the center of the charge is an SEC document that allegedly implicated prosecution witnesses - including Duddie and Pamela Massad - in possible criminal activity. Among those allegations? That certain witnesses (including the Massads) may have been involved in money laundering and may have provided false statements to the SEC.
While the trial wasn’t dismissed, the defense is sure to reference the charges in their closing arguments tomorrow.
Beyond that, if those charges are true, expect to be hearing a lot more about the SEC report’s allegations in the coming weeks.
