Breaking: Jose Antonio Rivera out of retirement
Worcester’s 3-time World Champion Boxer Jose Antonio Rivera - a week off of an exhibition fight at the Palladium - has come out of his short-lived retirement, and is trying to get back into the mix in the middleweight division. His announcement:
“After two disappointing defeats at the hands of Travis Simms and Daniel Santos it looked like the end of the road, but now with his head clear and his focus shifted back into training, Jose intends to come into the ring mentally prepared to become a 4-time World Champion, hopefully by year’s end. With this he has put out the open challenge to the Middleweight boxing world.”
Wow. We’re not shocked, but it’ll be interesting to see if he has more luck finding a suitable opponent than his last go.
