Adult Entertainment Zoning

The new adult entertainment ordinance, designed to make sure the city complied with the 1st amendment, is on the table right now.  It’s been a four month process to get to this point.

Councilor Haller is quoting Police Chief Gemme’s comments that there is a “multiplier” effect when adult entertainment is located near pouring establishments/bars.  That theory has been disputed by some.

Rev. Richard Reidy – who just gave the religious invocation 20 minutes ago – is speaking as a citizen supporting the passage of the new ordinance, which will restrict businesses from applying for a special permit near residences, in addition to pouring estabishments and other adult entertainment businesses.

And the new ordinance is passed, unanimously.  Ladies and gentleman (who want to have strippers), start applying for your permits.
