Mayor Lukes’ proposal to freeze salaries in town is getting some state attention:
WBZ-4 just ran a story on the hypothetical freeze;  go figure, Rick Rushton is quoted as opposing the mayor.
Lukes is reacting to a city council report showing that last year 180 city employees earned $100,000 or more.

So TD Banknorth is being renamed TD Commerce Bank, but the company will have no relation to the existing Commerce Bank chain.
