Here’s the not-so-final word on the issue:
The councilors voted to put through Barabara Haller’s motion, which was essentially a realignment of the realignment suggested by the Rules Committee to modify the City Manager’s proposed realignment of the council committees. (Got all that?)
Even WITH that order passed, the councilors must vote on the item again next week, or risk it being held to the next term…in which case Mayor Lukes says she’ll go forward with the 20 committees, not the proposed 10.
