Starting tomorrow, former WTAG news guy Alec Callender will be heard on WCRN.
An email to WCRN staff from program manager Hank Stolz (Callender’s news director at WTAG for a time) obtained by Worcester Magazine reads in part:
“Alec’s joining the team is another positive step forward for WCRN. As we continue to compete and gain momentum it is clear that we need more of a news presence. This move fills a hole and I think demonstrates once again how commited our local ownership is not just to the success of the station but in super-serving our listening audience. Our audience wants more local news and more original reporting and that is what Alec will be concentrating on. On Alec’s first day he will be able to aid in storm coverage as well as comment live in the six O’clock hour on the remeberance for Worcester’s six fallen heroes. I certainly plan for him to hit the ground running and for his voice to be heard Monday afternoon.”
