From a margin of 105 to a margin of 116….
Well, there yah have it.
I didn’t think it would change much, and I didn’t think the results would change either, but I am somewhat surprised it changed as little as it did.
Those crazy little machines don’t do all that bad a job apparently.
Go figure.
For all the money that this recount cost in order to stroke
an overinflated ego, the results remain the same only
with a greater loss to Mr. Rushton. Mr. Rushton should
have to bear the cost of this silly excercise in chest
thumping or at least a portion of it. What this process
found was that the people of Worcester really do know
how to vote despite the doubts of one who wanted this
recount and the machines were ok despite the feelings
of one who wanted this recount and it also proved that
despite having all the high level endorsements one
might want to have, they really didn’t matter. Worcester
now has it’s first popularily elected woman mayor
and will be better for it despite some who felt and feel
otherwise.
The City Council should now all and the main thing
is the word all, should and need to work for the
betterment of the city. All in the city’s administration
need to work together, it would be such a welcome
change for the best city in New England.
